Add information/files/images to your Profile
After you log in, you will see a list of links near the
top of the site (just under the HomeSchool Launch logo) - one of
which is "edit my content." If you follow that link, you'll
find a page that allows you to edit the main body of text on your
profile page, manage pictures and files, and manage friends and
comments.
Add friends to your Profile
Adding a friend will place a picture and a link to that
member's profile on your profile. To add a friend, go to the member's
profile, and click "Add to Friends List." Now, if you
go back to your own page, you will see that their link appears just
under your "About Me" section.
Messaging and Commenting Other Members
There are two ways to contact another member - privately
via email, or publicly via commenting. To send a member a private
email, go to their profile and click the "Email this User"
link (found near the top-right of their page). To post a public
comment on the member's profile, simply scroll down to the bottom
of their page, type your comment into the "Add Comment"
box, and press "Submit Comment."
Change the Look of your Profile
Click the "edit my design" link in the list of links at
the top of every page (you must be logged in to see it). You will
see a drop-down list of preset themes, and a box to modify your
page's style sheets. Modifying style sheets is a bit of a complex
process, and will be difficult unless you already know standard
Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) syntax. If you want to get your hands
dirty with CSS, here is a good
place to start. For everyone else, at the time, you are limited
to using presets. This will change in the near future; we are developing
a tool to allow you to make more controlled modifications that presets,
without having to be a geek!
