Hi! I'm Jimmie, a Charlotte Mason homeschooling mom of an only daughter, age 11. We use a literature based but eclectic curriculum-- currently Beautiful Feet Ancients, Learning Language Arts Through Literature, Spelling Power, study of the human body and history of medicine, and living math (Singapore, Teaching Textbooks, livingmath.net, etc.). We do lapbooking, notebooking, and other crafts as well as artist, composer, hymn, and nature studies. Throw in poetry and Shakespeare as well. We love it all!
We have used the following curricula in the past -- Sonlight K, 1, & 2, Winter Promise American Story 1 & 2, BF History of Horse, Noeo Physics & Chemistry, Singapore Math.
Here are some sites I'm personally invested in either through writing or through friendship.
I'm saving Swagbucks for Amazon Gift Cards -- what else?
I use Tagfoot to store and organize my bookmarks. Here are the things I've bookmarked lately. You'll find a mix of links about homeschooling, photography, cooking from scratch, blogging, writing, and traveling.
I've meant to post before now, but life with three kids gets a little crazy. I just want to stop by and say that you are an inspiration. When I first started lapbooking, I discovered your lenses (which are AWESOME) and they really helped me get a grip on what it is and how to do it! Thank you for all you do to help others. You are very appreciated.
Hi Jimmie, So nice to see you here. I was just introduced to this site through RocketMoms in the Teaching Group. I am looking forward to reading more of your lapbooking ideas. Evelyn

Thanks for the welcome Jimmie. This is my 3rd year HSing, but I still feel like such a noob. :) You are one of the first HS moms I ran across and my favorite. I have one child, also a daughter who is almost 10. She has seen your squidoos, your daughters photos etc. We talk about what it must be like to live in China and how exciting it must be. We practically feel like we know you!
Hi Jimmie! I just want to know if you are also doing nb pages for the volume 2 of the Mathematicians are People, too. I am thinking of starting them, but if you have them coming up, I might wait. Thanks for these goodies.
Hi Jimmie, I was able to get all the files up and get the house clean.... pretty productive couple days. Although, it does help to have 6 kids helping me! I love having all these resources in one place. Take care and thanks for all you share!

Thank you for your welcome! I'm still trying to learn to navigate my way around and trying to get a new blog going. Have no idea what I'm doin! But, it's a learning process! LOL. I'm so computer illiterate!
I wondered if you could help me. I just joined hslaunch. I have some files that I wanted to upload for mini books from some of our lapbooks, but I uploaded my first one and it says that is pending approval. Do you think I did something wrong? I uploaded it several days ago. Does it normally take a long time and I should be patient or do I need to do something different?
Thanks for the welcome Jimmie. I really appreciated your Squidoo lens telling about making my own notebook page. I don't have word and have OpenOffice. I'm struggling. I'm keeping at it, though, and can't wait to add to the community.
