We have been homeschooling for 2.5 years until Sept 2006. My son wanted to go back to school, he is in the 8th grade. He loved it for about 2 weeks, when he realized that the atmosphere and lack of some parental guidance proved that this was not the place for him.. We did have an agreement that he must finish the quarter (10 weeks) to make sure. Then on that last day of the quarter we decided to reclaim our son and continue to homeschool him. It really is unbelievable the difference a week makes. However, I did receive stronger opposition from my family in taking him out this time. The family was soooo relieved that he was going back to "school". You just have to stand your ground on something you believe in. All you have to do is turn on the news on any given night and there will be several reasons why our son is at home. Fight the right fight.
