I am a homeschool mom of 4 as my name says. We have been homeschooling for 21 years. My oldest two daughters now 26 and 23 have graduated from our homeschool and were homeschooled all the way from K-12. They are now starting their own businesses, helping around the house and teaching homeschool classes.
I am currently homeschooling my two sons grades 12 and 9. We are eclectic so we use all kind of things to homeschool, for instance: Unit Studies, Field Trips, walking in parks, lapbooking, crafts, computer stuff of all kinds (games, programing, surfing, etc.) We sing together as a family, A Capella, in 4 part harmony and enjoy ministering with our music in our church, in nursing homes and caroling to friends at Christmas.
We decided to homeschool because we could not afford private school and did not want our children in the local public schools because they are terrible where we live. Now if someone paid full tuition for my kids to go to a private Christian school we would not send them. We love homeschooling, most days, and I like being a big influence in my children's lives. I like the fact that my husband and I and our children's siblings are best friends and not peers, even at church. We are able to influence them to not follow the crowd but to follow Christ.
